Transform Scotland is an alliance for sustainable transport that supports campaigns for walking, cycling, and public transport in an effort to make these modes of transit affordable options for everyone in Scotland. Love My Bus was launched in 2019 as a campaign from Transform Scotland, and was designed to increase awareness, facilitate understanding, and celebrate the benefits of bus.
The GlasGo Alliance and its members have signed up to Love My Bus for the Glasgow City Region to help demonstrate to everyone that bus can be an affordable, sustainable transportation solution. And as our communities have dealt with – and emerged from – the challenges posed by the pandemic, Love my Bus has continued to display the ways that bus can help us tackle various problems across a range of issues.
From improving our health, saving money, reducing pressure on the NHS, addressing inequalities, doing our part to fight climate change, creating green jobs, and strengthening our economy, bus is here to help us become a greener, and more just community.
Since its inception, Love My Bus has extensively researched the ways that increased use of bus within an area can lead to real, tangible benefits for riders, and continues to be a source of vital information and expertise for people familiar with bus, and for those who are considering using bus for the first time.
As part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring a green and just recovery from the pandemic, Love My Bus routinely hosts open virtual presentations to offer information about the campaign and benefits of bus, and encourages anyone to sign up and participate, and to learn more about how integral buses are to our communities.
The provision and maintenance of good public transport links is absolutely integral to [our] ambitions.
